Northrop (1857-1953). The window panel, now in The Met Museum's American Wing, was commissioned by businesswoman and philanthropist Sarah Cochran to evoke the idyllic grounds of her grand estate, Linden Hall, in Pennsylvania. Textured glass lends a three-dimensional quality and a dazzling iridescence to the peonies.
